description Dundo Group Campground is a beautiful campground located at milepost 83.7 along the Skyline Drive with the Appalachian Trail passing through the site. The southern end is a picnic area and the northern end is the campground.
drivingDirection From Washington, D.C., metro area, travel west on Interstate 66 to exit 43A. Take US Highway 29 south approximately 55 miles to Ruckersville, Virginia, then take US Highway 33 west to Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive Swift Run Entrance. Follow Skyline Drive south approximately 18 miles and turn left into the Dundo Campground/Picnic area. From Richmond, Virginia, area, travel west on Interstate 64 to exit 99 for Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive. Take Skyline Drive north approximately 22 miles and turn right into the Dundo Campground/Picnic area.
facilitiesDescription This campground provides plenty of tent space, picnic tables, fire pits with grills, food storage bins, potable water, vault toilets and parking for up to five vehicles at each site. Firewood, ice, laundry, showers and camp store are available three miles north at the Loft Mountain Camp Store.

importantInformation Black bears, deer, skunks, raccoons and other wildlife share this space with you; please plan to store all food, hygiene items and trash in appropriate containers or your vehicle You are responsible for following all park and campground regulations There are no RV hook-ups but there is a dump station with potable water available Generator hours are 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. with a 60 decibel limit There is a $20 fee per vehicle to enter the park. The pass issued is valid for one week Upon arrival to the campground, please check in at the registration office. If you arrive after hours, directions will be posted at that office Unleaded fuel and diesel are available 24/7 at Big Meadows Wayside (milepost 51.2) Firewood may not be available for purchase after 7 p.m. If you plan to arrive late, you may want to consider purchasing firewood in route. Due to the spread of invasive insects, only kiln dried USDA approved firewood is permitted. Help protect our forest, click here for more information. nearbyAttrctionDescription Dundo is located at milepost 83.7 along the scenic Skyline Drive. There are over 500 miles of trails located throughout the park. A camp store is located three miles north in the Loft Mountain Area. The closest Visitor Center is at Milepost 51 but there is a roving Visitor Service Van that conducts interpretive programs and provides visitor services. There are scheduled Ranger programs at the Loft Mountain Amphitheater.
